Cummings Africa Foundation focuses on three key areas...
Our approach is to partner with local and international organizations to create safe learning environments, strengthen teacher quality, enhance classroom learning, to train the next generation of leaders. We also partner with organizations and business mentors to help entrepreneurial individuals through enterprise development.
We are committed to sustainable, quality health care for rural Africa, where there is an urgent need for basic infrastructure and critical necessities such as clean water, access to medical treatment, and sanitation systems. Through partnerships and local ownership, we strive to make a positive impact on the lives of the people of the continent.
With nearly one billion people and significant arable land, Africa still struggles to feed itself. Hunger kills more people each year than AIDS, TB and Malaria combined. We believe that Africa has the power to feed itself and that smallholder farmer along with the right tools and knowledge, hold the key to sustained poverty reduction.
Our first steps start with you. Your donations help us affect change! We do this because we believe our beneficiaries know their challenges more than we do. Instead of imposing a solution, we listen to their challenges and proposed solutions.
We then work with our beneficiaries and their communities to develop sustainable solutions. In some cases, the solutions we develop may be temporary to resolve an urgent issue but our focus is to develop long term sustainable solutions.
Once the solution is implemented we work with our partners to monitor and measure our results. Measuring our impact and using evidence-based methods to improve what we do is critical
We partner with the community and other organizations to implement the solution. Local ownership is critical in this phase. We rely on the communities to lead the process, while we support.
